Do you remember when the Republicans wanted to crucify Bill Clinton because he sought out the advice of Hillary and she was working on health care reform during his first term as President?
Todd Palin (First Dude, First Gentleman, whatever...) has full access to Sarah's office as Governor of Alaska, sat in on closed door meetings, made appointments to meet with various departmental heads referring to "we" when wanting something done, etc.
Guess that kind of access is only a good thing if you are a Republican and the husband of a pit bull in lipstick...

Don't you think it's scary that the Alaskan citizenry thought a journalism major and former local TV person was educated and informed enough to run their state. Add in the "first dude" (oil field worker and fisherman? Not to denigrate blue collar jobs, but......) and all I can say is "Oh good grief".
It is heartening when a person considers their spouse a good sounding board for ideas; HOWEVER, let's temper that with the statement that it should be in the spouse's area of expertise! If I were married to a lawyer, it would make sense to involve them in discussions about major legislative actions (such as health care reform). But if I were married to an petroleum industry worker/fisherman, I don't think I would be seeking advice on running the state.
What struck me most about this story is that no one in these state house meetings stood up and said "Who the hell are you to be here?"
